Photograper's Prayer

Oh God, as I bring my subject into focus and prepare to make each portrait, never let me forget that I’m creating treasures for some family, a keepsake for loved ones. Make me sensitive to the qualities and virtues of others, that I may draw out into the light the beautiful radiant belongings of their hearts.

Help me to be an artist, collecting the beauty of every soul, the glow of youth, the gentleness, the laughter or tears of each life that is precious in Thy sight. Deeper than a means of livelihood, give me the perspective to see my photographer’s art as a service to others, making life richer and more memorable.

And, dear Lord, between the lights and shadows, the ups and downs and the rolling years, keep me from getting out of focus or off center, so that my life and work may be framed with dignity and colored with contentment …

Heart Strings Child Photography Photo Contest

Happy New Year!!! 2011 is going to be an awesome year for me. I have many new products to provide to my customers and I can't wait to show them off.

I have decided to run a CONTEST...........I will be uploading some of my favorite pictures from last year on here, you can look through the pictures, comment on your favorite. Each comment is a vote. If your child or picture was chosen as one of my favs, make sure to tell your friends and family to vote as well. The winner of the contest will win at $50 gift certificate from Heart Strings Child Photography to be used in a future session. You can also vote on my Facebook Fan Page, www.facebook.com/heartstringschildphotography GOOD LUCK :) The contest will end on January 31, 2011.

What to Expect

First of all expect to have fun, that is the most important thing to me, that you enjoy your photo session. Allowing the children to have fun and not be pressured to "pose" or "say cheese" allows them to be kids, and allows me to "capture" their inner spirit. Parents, you will need to put your trust in me, I will ask for help when needed, but I will do my best to get the child's attention on my own. I will play with you child, dance and sing, we may look silly, but having fun will result in fun and creative photos. I will work very hard to capture your child as they truly are. There may be some posed shots, but I prefer to get the "real" moments on film. Have Fun!!!!

What to Wear

Ahhhh, the burning question, what should I wear, what should my child wear???? Wear something that is comfortable, some that is "you" if you normally don't wear dressy dresses, then you won't need to wear them for your photo session. You need to wear the clothes, don't let them wear you. :) If you are comfortable, then you are happy, and happy is great for the camera!!!

Keep in mind, logos, and patterns don't look great in black and white photos, but that is your call!!!

Bare feet are absolutly adorable for your kids!!

You may have as many clothing changes as you like, just have them planned ahead, just keep in mind, kids are going to be playing, they aren't going to want to stop and change clothes too many times. :)

Think outside the box!!! Be Unique, Original. Have fun.

What to Bring

Snacks and drinks are nessecary, bring many and a variety, they may come in handy for bribes :) Please don't bring messy snacks, like Cheetos, or yogurt, keep the drinks light in color. If your child has a favorite toy, stuffed animal, blanket, latest obsession, bring it, we can fit it in the photograph in one way or another. What NOT to Bring An audience. The more people there are at session, the more distracted the child may be. You may bring the people that are going to be in the photos.
